NBCUG SOFTWARE LIBRARY

The software listed below has been donated to NBCUG for loan to members. Here are the rules for borrowing or donating items:

1. To request loan of an item send an e-mail message to the custodian Susie Hokansson at susiehoke@suddenlink.net. Susie will either tell you when you can pick up the software at her home or inform you who has the item on loan for you to contact.

2. As custodian, Susie Hokansson will keep track of who has what software on loan. You need not return borrowed software to her unless she instructs you to do so. Therefore, if you've borrowed an item and pass it to another member you are responsible for the item until you have informed Susie who you passed it to. Only NBCUG members with addresses and e-mail will be permitted to borrow software so that they can be contacted.

3. Only donations of freeware, shareware, demo and trial software will be accepted. The main intent of the software library is to save members the long download time for free software provided by Microsoft, Netscape, AOL and others. You have several choices on how to donate software to NBCUG: (1) Mail donations to Susie Hokansson at 5508 Blackbeard's Lane, New Bern NC, 28560 (in Fairfield Harbour) (2) Hand to Susie or Nils at a NBCUG meeting or (3) Send a message to Susie describing the software donated and retain the copy yourself until it is loaned to someone and Susie is informed. The NBCUG web page list will be updated when Susie determines that donated software is acceptable.

1. (Qty 2) Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and Internet Tools CD This CD can only be used by users of Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Windows NT® Workstation 4.0, and Windows 2000 Professional operating systems. Includes OutLook Express 6.0. (Donated by Don Tirabassi 12/20/01)

2. (Qty 2) A Potpourri of Programs on a CD This CD has the following programs on it, some of which are freeware, shareware, demos or trials. (Donated by Brad Geres 12/30/01) Macromedia Fireworks Version 4, Macromedia Dreamweaver Version 4, Netscape Communicator 4.7, Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.05, Adobe Illustrator Version 9, Adobe Photoshop Version 6, Internet Explorer 5.5, HTMLRename, Homesite, AOlPress, Atomic Clock, Eudora, Omnipage, Vanguard, ZoneAlarm, Dreamweaver additions and tutorials, Free FTP, Games, Misc.

3. Web page accessories CD By Don Tirabassi. Includes Web page buttons, backgrounds, images, under construction, etc. Useful to anyone constructing web pages.

4. Open Office CD 2.3.0. This is a freeware program that is an alternative to the Microsoft OFFICE SUITES. A quote from the site says you can "create dynamic documents, analyze data, design eye-catching presentations, produce dramatic illustrations and open up your data bases". 8 copies are available, thanks to generous members.

5. Window XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) CD. This is the free CD available from MS to update Windows XP. It includes Service Pack 1.
